Fashion house Pierre Cardin announced its entry into the UK tablet market with the launch of its designer tablet, called the Pierre Cardin PC-7006.
The Android-powered Pierre Cardin PC-7006 is the UK’s first tablet PC that has been launched under the brand name of a designer/fashion house.
The tablet boasts of its WiFi as well as 3G capability, and looks sleek and modern, but its technical specs are not very striking.
Based on Google’s Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, the Pierre Cardin PC-7006 features a 7-inch capacitive multi-touch LCD that offers a resolution of 800 by 480 pixels.
The designer tablet comes equipped a 1 GHz Samsung ARM Cortex-A8 based single-core processor, 4GB of built-in storage, 512MB of RAM, USB & HDMI ports, a microSD card (up to 16GB expansion), and a 1.3-megapixel webcam that offers HD video playback support of up to 720p.
Weighing at 520g and measuring at 1.4 cm in thickness, the Pierre Cardin PC-7006 has been priced at £275.
