Built in partnership between Electronic Arts’ Sims Studio and Playfish, the Sims Social is a life simulation game that will be launched on Facebook in not-too-distant future.
To be available in five languages globally, the Sims Social lets players to create and control their Sims. They can also build a bachelor pad or dream house, spark friendships and romances, and enjoy exciting adventures, all with their Facebook friends.
Players can choose from different personality types, such as Creative and Romantic, for their Sims. The Sim can be chosen to be guided towards a special personality over the course of gameplay.
Players can make their Sims interact with different objects as well as with other Sims with the help of dialogue trees.
The game is about socialization among Sims, but the actual social elements in the game come from gifting of virtual items, visiting friends’ houses, recruiting friends to complete construction of new rooms and new objects, and all that.
The Sims Social is based on one of Electronic Arts’ oldest and most thriving PC game franchises that run on Facebook as an app.
The Sims Social is currently in closed beta, and is expected to be released later this summer.
