Tablet market is getting much more saturated and competitive than ever before as more and more players are getting into the arena.
Encouraged by the success of tech giants like Apple, Samsung and RIM in the tablet market, fashion house Pierre Cardin announced its own-branded tablet, called the Pierre Cardin PC-7006.
The Android-powered designer tablet boasts of being the first tablet launched under the brand name of a designer/fashion house.
Weighing at 520g and measuring at 1.4 cm in thickness, the Pierre Cardin PC-7006 looks sleek and modern, and comes with WiFi and 3G capabilities. However, its technical specs are not so great. While, most of the new Android tablets run Google’s Gingerbread version of the operating system, the Pierre Cardin PC-7006 is based on Android 2.2 Froyo operating system.
Other specs of the designer tablet include a 7-inch capacitive multi-touch LCD that offers a resolution of 800x480 pixels, a 1 GHz Samsung ARM Cortex-A8 based single-core chip, 4GB of built-in storage, 512MB of RAM, USB & HDMI ports, a microSD card (up to 16GB expansion). Its 1.3-megapixel webcam offers HD video playback support of up to 720p.
The Pierre Cardin PC-7006 is available with a price tag of £275.
