Some leaked pictures of the Samsung Hercules, a variant of the Samsung Galaxy S II, have made the device the talk of the internet.
The Samsung Hercules, which is rumored to be released on September 26 on the airwaves of T-Mobile, features a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED plus touchscreen that promises a resolution of 800 by 480 pixels, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera that has the capability to shoot in 1080i, a possible 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting.
The device draws power from a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm APQ8060 dual-core processor, and offers 1GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage, 42Mbps HSDPA support, a microSD slot plus a micro USB port.
The device supports NFC technology, which allows users to make purchases through a mobile phone by just waving the phone in front of a special e-reader at retailers.
Instead of a track pad, like the one on the Samsung Galaxy S II, the Hercules features four capacitive buttons at its bottom.
The Samsung Hercules is expected to cost around $300.
