In an attempt to help people with heath services at their doorstep along with chopping down the amount of time they need to wait in hospitals, a Wellington-based Healthcare NZ is on the brink of finalizing a foremost treaty to provide nursing and home support services for elderly people throughout China.
As part of the agreement, Healthcare NZ will train Chinese caregivers to work with ageing people following their discharge from Chinese hospitals.
During the preliminary phase, it will be a pilot programme in the Chinese city of Tianjin. The program will demonstrate how support services can help the ageing people.
Healthcare NZ is focused on providing support to numerous people including the disabled, elderly, medically fragile children and patients battling chronic conditions. It had long been showing intent to craft an effective relationship in China.
Earlier in July, Healthcare NZ’s plans were processed after its Managing Director, Peter Hausmann, joined Wellington mayor Celia Wade-Brown's conference of business delegates touring various cities in China, including Tianjin.
The Tianjin Elderly Investment company will reportedly embrace six government agencies. It hopes to secure the joint venture contracts before long.
Meanwhile, funding had been offered to initiate the pilot programme and staff would soon be travelling to China during the next six weeks to start working on the project.
The plan will reportedly start small, initially offering services to nearly 2000 people, but there’s every expectation that it will roll out later.
