Dengue Outbreak Stares at Rock Point

Rdengueock Point residents have been urged by the Martin County Health Department to take precautionary measures so as to avoid contact with dengue fever. It has been reported that a resident has been tested positive after coming back from a trip to Caribbean Island. Another case of dengue has also been suspected.

Usually, the dengue fever is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected mosquito.

However, the disease does not spread from person to person through physical contact. The medical experts have revealed that the disease mainly spreads by two dangerous mosquitoes, Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus.

These two mosquitoes have been found near the Martin County. A person infected with dengue fever responds with fever and complains body ache. For the treatment of dengue, there is no vaccination available. However, the body aches can be treated by using pain killers prescribed by the practitioners.

It has been reported that every month, the hospitals are receiving complaints related to dengue fever. Although there have been a few reported cases of dengue fever, the state health department has ruled out the possibility of an epidemic. Still, people have been advised to consult their doctors if they experience any symptom of dengue.
