Countryside management services provider Glendale has placed order for 100 specially modified Ford vans to mark the US automaker’s 100 years in Britain.
Glendale, one of the Ford’s loyal customers, had originally plans to place order for a total of 97 vans, but later it increased the order to 100 in order to celebrate the automaker’s 100th anniversary in the country.
Stuart Darbyshire, Commercial Director at Glendale, said that Ford dealer Gordons of Bolton knew exactly what Glendale wanted from its fleet of vehicles.
Speaking on the topic, Darbyshire said, “The team at Gordons Ford knows exactly what we require from our fleet, what specifications we need, and provide an excellent service to us through the life of a vehicle.”
Dealer Gordons of Bolton signed its first agreement with Ford in 1911, the same year in which the US automaker started its British operations.
At present, Glendale has a fleet of 650 vehicles, of which 90 per cent are Ford models.
Meanwhile, Ford has launched a limited-edition version of its Fiesta, called Ford Fiesta Centura, to mark its 100th anniversary. The special-edition Ford Centura will go on sale later this month, with price tag ranging from £13,395 for the three-door to £13,995 for the five-door model.
