The powerful four-wheel-drive Range Rover Evoque outshined seventeen other class winners to be named as the Auto Express Car of Year 2011.
Living up to the hype, the Range Rover Evoque performed well different fields, including drive appeal, fuel efficiency, practicability and reliability.
Speaking on the mighty vehicle, Auto Express’ Acting Editor Graham Hope said, “The Range Rover Evoque truly looks set to define a desirable new sector of the market on its own. This talented machine brings a much loved premium brand within reach of a wider audience than ever before, and marks a brave departure from its maker’s traditional strengths.”
The Range Rover Evoque was designed, engineered as well as manufactured in Britain.
The list of other Auto Express class winner include Hyundai i10 (best city car), Ford Fiesta (best super-mini), Audi A1 (best premium super-mini), Audi 6 (best executive car), Hyundai ix20 (best super-mini-MPV), Skoda Yeti (best crossover), Land Rover Discovery 4 (best large SUV), and Mercedes S-Class (best luxury car).
Peugeot RCZ and Mazda MX-5 were named as best coupe and best roadster, respectively; while, Volkswagen BlueMotion range bestowed with the 'Green Award'.
