Even though the Microsoft Bing search engine lags way behind Internet search giant Google in terms of search market dominance, a new report released by Experian Hitwise this week has revealed that when it comes to accuracy of search results, Bing apparently rules the roost!
According to the Experian report, Bing is a more accurate search platform as compared to its much-more established and market leading competitor, Google --- in fact, Bing as well as Yahoo search reportedly have the "highest success rates" of all search engines. In other words, it means that the successful clicking through to an accurate search result was notably more on Bing and Yahoo, vis-à-vis Google.
The statistics put forth by Experian show that while around 68 percent of Internet users plugged a term into Google, and then visited one of the websites that Google suggested; the “successful” figures were nearly 80 percent for Bing; and the highest – 81.36 percent – for Yahoo.
With the Experian report showing that marketers purchased by keywords on sites powered by Bing have a better click-through rate than those purchased on Google, it is quite evident that an increase in revenue from online services is on the cards for Microsoft! Noting that the Experian figures highlight “a long-term game for Bing,” Stefan Weitz - director of Bing – told tech site CRN that the Microsoft search engine “continues to be focused on creating a great consumer experience, solid execution and steady market share growth.”
