Kids with mild kidney problems are more prone to heart disease, according to a study published by Science Daily.
According to a recent research carried out by the Children’s Study of Philadelphia, heart diseases swallow the lives of 35 per cent of kids with poor kidney functions.
Researchers studied the cases of a total of 586 kids with chronic kidney problems, and found that even kids with mild kidney impairments had been suffering from increased blood pressure.
The problem of high blood pressure surfaces when the force of blood flows against the blood vessels in above normal.
Researchers also found that even a moderate problem in kidney can lead to poor growth as well as delayed puberty.
Speaking on the study, Susan Furth from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia said, “We were hoping to identify risk factors for CKD progression and see if these can be targeted to slow the decline of kidney function and prevent its complications.”
Causes of kidney dysfunction in kids are numerous, ranging from polycystic kidney ailment to urinary tract tribulations.
