A 34-year-old motorist from Sprowston, near Norwich, has been banned from driving for 12 months for using two mobile phones at the same time while driving.
David Secker was making a phone call on one phone and apparently sending a text message with the other, when he was caught on a 70mph dual-carriageway on the fringes of Norwich on 17th of May.
Speaking on the topic, prosecutor Denis King said, “He was seen holding a mobile phone to his right ear and as he moved closer the officer saw he was holding another phone in his other hand as though he was texting.”
Secker was allegedly driving his Vauxhall Tigra at a speed of 113kmph when he was spotted by police. He was accused of driving his car with knees, the claim that was disputed by his lawyer.
Secker was found guilty of having no insurance and not being in a position to have proper control on the vehicle.
Norwich magistrates' court heard the case and gave Secker a total of 14 points on his licence, and banned him from driving for 12 months. He was also slapped with a fine of £150.
