ACC Reports of Bed Fall Injuries The state Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) figures have revealed about the cases of injury occurred due to falling out bed in New Zealand. The figures reveal that everyday 20 cases of injury were reported from falling out of bed.

According to the data of ACC, 7,600 people met a bed fall injury that comes to 146 people in a week. The victims of bed fall were not only children and elderly people, but 1800 out of 7,600 people belonging to the age group of 25 and 64.

As per ACC Insurance and Prevention Services General Manager Keith McLea, "An injury like this can seriously mess up your plans and we don't want New Zealanders to miss playing for their team at the weekend or miss watching the rugby World Cup because they are laid up in a hospital bed with an injury”.

Previous year, 261,000 and above people in New Zealand were reported to have got injured due to the falls, which led to a spending of $272 million on the part of the health authorities. The authorities reveal that people met accidents at home more than outside while they were on work or roads.
