UK mobile retailer Phones 4U has secured the stock and market Chinese white label phone producers Huawei’s own-branded upcoming handsets.
Huawei’s first own-branded smartphone Blaze is expected to be launched in the UK by September’s end. The Chinese manufacturer’s another own-branded handset Vision is also believed to become available in sometime in the running quarter of this year.
The newly announced deal is expected to give Phone 4u exclusive lead to market for the upcoming Blaze.
The Huawei Blaze will reportedly run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, and feature a 3.2-inch touch-screen, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapgdragon MSM 8255 processor, 256MB of RAM and 512MB of onboard storage.
Earlier, reports were coming the Chinese handset maker was in talks with mobile phone operators O2 and Vodafone to make its handsets available on contracts.
Launching handsets under its own banner marks a change in Huawei’s strategy as it has so far built handsets for other companies, including Vodafone, T-Mobile and Telefonica, to re-brand.
