Ecstasy Pills Fight Cancer: Study

StudyResearchers from the University of Birmingham have found that ecstasy pills help in killing the cancer cells within 24 hours of consumption.

The pill is claimed to change the cancerous cells into self-destroying form, which leads to cleaning away cancer. John Gordon, Professor of cellular immunity at the University of Birmingham, reveals that the pills have a lesser effect than chemotherapy, thereby fighting the occurrence of the disease completely.

The study published in the Investigational New Drugs has been commenced in association with the researchers from the University of Western Australia.

Dr. David Grant, Scientific Director of the charity Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, which part-funded the study, reveals that the ecstasy pills have been related to fighting cancer from past 6 years. The team of Professor Gordon had found similar reaction even in blood cancer cases. However, the life expectancy rates of Leukemia patients have been witnessed at a rise but further research is demanded to make it even more effective.

As per Professor Gordon, "This is an exciting next step towards using a modified form of MDMA to help people suffering from blood cancer. While we would not wish to give people false hope, the results of this research hold the potential for improvement in treatments in years to come”.
