HTC’s first 3D-capable smartphone, the EVO 3D, has finally become available in the UK for pre-order.
Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy stores are offering the HTC EVO 3D for free on a £36-a-month two-year contract, while the SIM-free smartphone costs £599. The retailer will start shipping the smartphone from September 6.
The HTC EVO 3D is only the second 3D-capable smartphone to hit the UK stores after the LG Optimus 3D, which has been available since June this year.
The Android Gingerbread-based HTC EVO 3D features a 4.3-inch qHD touch-screen, dual 5MP cameras for capturing and playing back 720p HD videos, a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, HTC Sense UI,
1GB of RAM, 1GB of storage expandable to up to 32GB via an SD card slot.
The huge qHD touch-screen with stereo surround sound and stereoscopic 3D screen technology promises to allow users to enjoy 3D games and 3D movies from a new dimension.
Meanwhile, RadioShack announced that it had acquired exclusive rights to launch the Sprint HTC EVO 3D in white.
