The Samsung Galaxy Pro is a fairly thin and affordable Android handset which features a BlackBerry-style Qwerty keyboard, as well as a touchscreen; and boasts abundance of shiny chrome, even though it is made entirely of plastic.
The SIM-free prices of the Galaxy Pro begin at around £200; though the handset is also available for free on a £15 monthly contract. In addition, a ‘pay as you go deal’ will set the buyers back by nearly £130.
Like its other Galaxy counterparts – the Galaxy Mini and the Galaxy Fit -, the Galaxy Pro runs the Android version 2.2 ‘Froyo;’ allowing the users to access the Android Market, and connect seamlessly with Google applications like Gmail and Maps.
In addition, Android 2.2 version also allows users to multitask with several apps that can be opened simultaneously; and gives them the ability to store app data on their microSD card; thereby freeing up storage space on the handset.
The Galaxy Pro also features the standard Samsung app store, and a pre-installed file manager which enables users to keep the SD card of their handset in order. Furthermore, the Samsung Social Hub app also allows the users to keep up-to-date with their Facebook and Twitter feeds.
While one of the most attractive features of the Samsung Galaxy Pro is its 39-button, four-tier Qwerty keyboard; the biggest drawback of the handset is its dinky and dismal 2.8-inch touchscreen, which looks dim and washed-out in comparison to the screens of the other handsets in the same category!
