According to a Tuesday report in the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), the popular Apple iPhone will land on the Sprint network for the first time in mid-October – when the next generation of the handset, iPhone 5, be released.
The WSJ report also says that Sprint may apparently also offer the current iPhone model - iPhone 4 - around the same time.
The availability of the iPhone 5 on Sprint will coincide with the October launch of the smartphone on AT&T and Verizon --- the two carriers which are Sprint’s bigger rivals, and which currently sell the iPhone 4.
While there are speculations galore from some industry watchers that iPhone 5 could likely hit the markets sometime next month, there is no denying the fact that whenever the handsets arrives, Sprint will definitely get a much-needed boost as it will be one of the first to offer the new iPhone version.
In fact, it is also being suggested that iPhone 5 will probably be a dual mode handset, so as to allow Sprint customers to use the phone while traveling in Europe.
One of the most notable advantages that Sprint has over its rivals is that while the latter done away with unlimited data plans, Sprint is the only carrier offering a truly unlimited-data plan --- Sprint’s rare marketing and competitive edge over its rivals, to spur additional customer growth!
