World’s most popular social networking site Facebook is introducing a bunch of new privacy features to provide users with more control over what they want to share with others.
The latest attempt by Facebook to streamline how members control their personal information will include features that will allow users to review tagged photos, have control over who sees each post and who sees a post after it went live.
In addition, the social platform has cleaned up the way privacy options are presented in the site’s different areas.
Facebook has so far been repeatedly condemned for burying the privacy settings in difficult-to-understand menus. But, Chris Cox from Facebook said that the new privacy controls didn’t mean that the old privacy system was bad.
Speaking on the topic, Cox said, “I don't think the old controls were bad. I just think the new ones are much better.”
He added that there wouldn’t be any startling changes to privacy settings of users during the changeover process. Current users will be able to retain their existing default sharing settings.
While privacy advocates & security experts have welcomed Facebook’s latest attempt to boost privacy controls, many believe that the move is a direct response to Google+.
