Gamers to be able to play same games on PS Vita & PS3

SonyGamers will soon be able to play same games on PS Vita and PS3 as cloud data will allow them to access games from either device, according to a senior Sony executive.

In an interview, Sony Worldwide Studios’ chief Shuhei Yoshida said that Studios and publishers were showing keen interest in mixed-platform play and it would be completely feasible for developers to create a connected experience between PS Vita and PS3 versions of the same game.

Yoshida said that they were making two versions of the same game, called Ruin, for the PS Vita and the PS3, and both versions will be packaged together.

Speaking on the topic, he explained, “You can play the game at home on PS3, save your data on our PSN server on the cloud, and you can continue playing the game on PS Vita by downloading the same from the PSN. And you can do vice versa.”

The Sony executive added that playing the same game on PS Vita and PS3 would provide gamers with a continuous experience.

Yoshida also said that future games consoles could be able to read gamers’ mood and emotions. However, he declined to confirm if the Japanese firm was developing such technology. He just said that a lot of R&D work was going on at the firm.
