The Panthermobile, the original Pink Panther car that featured in several movies through the ages, is up for auction for the second time, auctioneers Robson Kay confirmed.
Built by Jay Ohrberg, the Panthermobile is a non-runner. Nonetheless, the one-off vehicle is expected to generate between £50,000 and £100,000 from the auction.
The Panthermobile is in original state, and being 42 years old it does need some restoration work.
It featured in the Pink Panther TV show from 1969 to 1976. Ohrberg kept the car till June 2007, when it was put for auction for the first time. In that auction it got sold off for £88,000.
The list of Ohrberg’s other unique creations includes the General Lee, the Back to the Future DeLorean, the Batmobiles and the Knight Rider K. I. T. T.
The online auction will begin on 4th of September and come to an end at 13:00 on 14th of October 2011.
