According to the latest report submitted by heath experts, more than half of the residents would suffer serious overweight complications by 2030.
The claim came into limelight when `The Lancet', the British medical journal, published a report entitled `International Obesity Crisis', which asserted that until the government reviews its food environment strategy, the problem would keep on increasing.
In the issue, the journal authors also gave a useful suggestion to government officials that they should make junk food expensive so as to force individuals to eat healthy food.
Moreover, they further affirmed that these increased health complications will not only affect the residents, but the government will also be forced under heavy health maintenance financial burdens.
Therefore, a full support from worldwide fitness agencies and various major health organizations is the need of the hour.
The reports added, "The common weight-loss wisdom is that reducing calorie intake by about 500 calories a day will result in slow and steady weight loss of about 0.5 kg (about a pound) per week".
On the other hand, while sharing his views about the issue, Children Hospital Boston's Director of obesity program, Dr. David Ludwig, said that the mortality levels do get amplified with increase in obesity levels.
