The agenda of elderly care and financial back-ups provided by the Government is the most important issue to watch out at the New Zealand Aged Care Association Conference 2011. The meeting, being conducted in Auckland, will be witnessed by political leaders, examiners and people dealing with the said segment.
The government of New Zealand has recently made a severe cut in financial assistance provided for elderly care. As per Spokesperson for Senior Citizens and Aged Care Steve Chadwick, "National is avoiding action which would prepare the public purse for the pressure baby boomers will place on superannuation and the health sector".
She further stated that issues related to elderly care services, including senior's being ill-treated and financial burdens on elderly people in New Zealand in order to survive, are certain issues needing to be dealt with .
The meeting will majorly focus of the laws formulated by Labor party and the difference between expectations of elderly care service providers and the support being provided by the Government. The first thing to be discussed is the suggestions made by Labour/Green investigation and by the Labor Government. The assembly will then choose the appropriate suggestion so as to better the elderly care being provided in New Zealand.
