IT giant HP has completed the integration of VMware's virtualisation tools into its VirtualSystem line, a move that will accelerate as well as simplify the management of virtualised servers.
VMware support has been added for the company's converged infrastructure line to offer a complete hardware as well as software package to run VMware virtualised server deployments.
The systems support the VMware vCenter server platform, Insight Control management tools plus FlexFabric networking platform.
It will enhance data mobility and reduce recovery time on VMware servers, while the use of LeftHand and 3Par storage platforms will slash capacity requirements by around 50%.
HP storage marketing director Craig Nunes said that the integration of HP tools brought capabilities like snapshot backups for virtual servers.
Speaking on the topic, Nunes said, "You get a way to snapshoot your virtual machine, which is easier on your storage capacity, and you get a rapid recovery in case you accidentally blow away a virtual machine."
Nunes added that that what businesses needed was constant changing as the architectures developed one or two decades ago wasn't capable to meet today's needs.
