It has been recently discovered that chocolate can lower the risk of heart diseases. This has been found in a research conducted by scientists from the University of Cambridge. They are of the view that if a person regularly consumes controlled amount of chocolate, it might actually help in slashing the risk of diseases such as diabetes and heart ailments.
There were as many as 114, 000 people involved in the study and it was found that people who had regular chocolate were healthier than the ones who did not and were at 37% less risk of developing heart ailments. They were also at a lower risk to strokes.
It was further revealed by Dr. Oscar Franco that chocolate is surely helpful in cutting risks to a number of diseases but this does not mean people should eat it senselessly. There is need to control everything one eats and excess of chocolate would lead to obesity and a number of related ailments.
"Chocolate may be beneficial, but it should be eaten in a moderate way, not in large quantities and not in binges", "If it is consumed in large quantities, any beneficial effect is going to disappear", he said.
