Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, the Hyderabad-based Indian drug maker, has launched its over-the-counter (OTC) Fexofenadine HCl and Pseudoephedrine HCl extended release tablets 180/240mg in highly competitive American market.
The drug is meant to tackle seasonal and common allergies like sneezing and itchy nose.
Earlier on June 22, a new drug application (ANDA), meant for “Fexofenadine HCl and Pseudoephedrine HCl extended release tablets”, was sanctioned for abbreviation by US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Fexofenadine HCl and Pseudoephedrine HCl extended release tablets are said to be the generic edition of Allegra D24 Hour extended release drug ‘Sanofi-aventis’. During a statement, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories announced that Fexofenadine HCl and Pseudoephedrine HCl extended release tablets in range of 180 and 240 mg have been launched in the United States.
Over-The-Counter (OTC) drugs can be acquired with no recommendation or prescription, and are generally used to tackle symptoms related to frequent disorders. These medications are generally taken by people to ease their day-to-day sneezing, and these OTC drugs do not need a direct prescription or counseling from a medical doctor.
Dr. Reddy's Laboratory will, reportedly, market the recently released drugs as per store brand labels in American market. The launch has done a world of goods for Dr. Reddy laboratories, as the company shares are new heights ever since then.
On Tuesday, Dr. Reddy’s shares read Rs 1493.85 at close, claiming an upsurge of 1.89% on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
