apanese electronics giant Sony has introduced a 3D PC, called the Vaio L- an all-in-one desktop featuring a 24-inch full HD 3D touchscreen.
Introduced at the IFA 2011 in Germany, the Vaio L Series PC is first in the series to have a 3D HDMI input on its rear for PlayStation 3 games. It will also allow users to watch 3D video from a TV.
Its full HD (1920x1080) display with LED backlight supports multi-touch control, allowing users to use their fingers rather than the keyboard or mouse.
'Native' supported 3D content includes games, video and films on Blu-ray disc. In addition, it has a dedicated button on the bezel which immediately converts 2D content like Blu-ray disc films to simulated 3D at a single touch.
Users can also make their own 3D doodles as the new machine comes with 3D painting software.
The 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium-based PC will come equipped with second-generation Intel Core processors, 8GB of RAM, dual USB 3.0 ports, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI output, HDMI input, an HD webcam, Dolby Home Theater sound and a Blu-ray drive. The HDD is a 1TB SATA unit, while graphics will come via NVIDIA GT 540M with 1GB of RAM. In addition, the PC will be accompanied by a wireless mouse and keyboard, when it will hit European stores in October this year.
