Lung Cancer Outweighs Breast CancerBreast cancer has stepped down to second position, and lung cancer has taken its place in the list of cancer that affects women majorly. For long time, majority of women used to die due to breast cancer, but now that tag has been given to lung cancer as maximum deaths that occur is due to lung cancer.

Experts reveal that lot of efforts have been done to improve the number, from organizing awareness raising campaigns to advanced treatment and that too in short time has lessen the number of women dying due to breast cancer.

Bad news is that lung cancer is on rise, especially in Irish women. Chief reason is smoking habit. A stark difference has been found between men and women. During 1994 and 2008, it was found that where on one side, lung cancer reduced in men on the other side it increased by 2% in the women. Since then, there is no looking back and number is increasing at an enormous speed.

Measures have been taken out to reduce the number of smoking, and effect could also be witnessed but still one third of Ireland population smokes, and is on a rise among the age group of 25 to 34 years.
