Leah Gibbs, a mother-of-two, spent a night in the cells after her date with a Facebook friend turned into a robbery trick.
Gibbs, 23, set up a date with 21-year-old Minton over the social networking site Facebook, and went out with him. Minton requested her to give him a lift to a close by Ladbrokes. When the reached the site, she agreed to wait outside as Minton went inside to place a bet.
After a few minutes, Minton hurriedly returned, holding a knife in one hand and a bag full of cash in another. He leapt into her car and asked her to move quickly.
When they reached Minton's house, he started forcing her to go inside with him. She wanted to leave, but police reached before her departure and arrested both of them.
Gibbs spent the whole night in the cells and was only freed when Minton admitted that he had committed the crime alone.
Speaking on the nightmare, Leah said, "It was a date from hell. I thought I'd be ending the night in Adam's arms. Instead, he had landed in the long arms of the law and I was facing jail.”
Minton, who has a record for brutal crime, was jailed for four and a half years.
