Japanese hardware outfit Toshiba used Berlin's IFA Consumer Electronics Show to unveil its brand new Portege Z830 Ultrabook.
With the Portege Z830, the Japanese manufacturer showed that it has thrown its hat into Intel's Ultrabook ring, which demands that any product bearing its moniker has to be less than 18mm thick.
The Portege Z830 is merely 15.9mm at its thickest point, and weighs only 1.12kg, which makes it the thinnest as well as the lightest model seen to date.
The 13.3-inch Ultrabook is styled with clean lines, and presented in dark metallic silver, which outshines the premium styling of ultraportable rivals like the MacBook Air and the Samsung Series 9.
The new laptop, which has a screen resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels, offers up to 6GB of DDR3 RAM, a 128GB solid state drive, magnesium alloy casing, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VGA, USB, HDMI and support for Intel Wireless Display and spill-resistant keyboard.
Speaking about the Portege Z830, Toshiba said, "These new systems offer impressive portability, durability and essential features with truly smart styling."
The Portege Z830 will be released sometime in the fourth quarter of this year. Pricing details are yet to be announced.
