The question is, is the hassle worth it? Does altitude training really have a positive effect on the sporting ability of the trainees? Here’s a probe.

When one goes to higher altitudes, the body is deprived of oxygen. This condition is known as Hypoxia. This has long been used as a way for increasing the performance levels of the athletes since a long time. It increases their skills at sea levels. It will also prepare the athlete for different type of competition that they would face at altitude.

It is considered by an undue advantage by some. They are f the view that training at higher altitudes means an extra edge over the other players and hence it is frowned upon.

The first time altitude training was introduced was in the year 1968 in the Olympic Games that were held in Mexico City. Since then this technique is being used over the years for the proper fitness training of athletes prior to their big events. There are mixed reactions people have towards it, some say it’s fair and some are against it.
