Sony PlayStation 3 white will be available in the UK through retailer GameStop starting 1st of November, Japanese electronics and entertainment giant confirmed.

Available in Japan since July this year, the white version of the Sony PlayStation 3 boasts of its 320GB hard drive and a £249.97 price tag.

The white version of the Sony’s games console is the same as its black-hued counterpart, but white version of the popular devices, as in the case of iPhone, has always attracted huge swarms of buyers.

The exclusive and limited model will come with a pair of white Dualshock pads.

Both Sony and GameStop are expecting huge demand for the white version of the consol, partly because it is coming in time for the pre-Christmas shopping rush, but it will have to compete with the Nintendo 3DS and Xbox 360 with Kinect.

Last month, Sony slashed the price of its 160GB PlayStation 3 to £199.99 to provide a boost to sales.

Retailer GameStop has already started taking pre-orders for the Sony PlayStation 3 white, but its website warns that the shipping date may change without warning.
