After having earlier announced its decision to discontinue its TouchPad tablet computer and the Pre 3 handsets, Hewlett-Packard (HP) has now confirmed that it intends offering refunds to buyers who purchased the devices before their prices were slashed.
According to the refunds-related information that HP shared on its official website, the reimbursement amounts that the customers can claim for the discontinued webOS devices would essentially comprise the difference between what they paid for the devices and its new reduced cost.
The company further elaborated that refund amounts of more than £300 will be sent to customers of the webOS devices; and customers eligible for this offer are those who had activated their devices before 23 August, 2011.
Meanwhile, even though some early buyers of the TouchPad may go in for a refund, now that the device has been discontinued by HP, there are also reports of several consumers trying to get their hands on the tablet at the slashed price.
In fact, some reports also claim that ever since HP announced the discontinuation of the TouchPad and slashed its cost, the stock of the tablet was spent so fast that many consumers were left disappointed.
Despite the fact that HP has announced that it will be shipping one more batch of the TouchPad, it is being presumed that the last batch will largely be taken up by existing orders for the tablet!
