HPV Test Best for Detecting Cervical Cancer, Experts AssertWomen above 35 in U. K might soon start receiving HPV test for diagnosing cervical cancer.

HPV testing in the younger age group diagnosed the abnormal structural change in the body parts which, if treated, may cause complications during pregnancy.

Professor Kitchener, chairperson of UK's cervical screening advisory group, said, "In an era with a vaccinated cohort of women, there is a higher chance women will test negative for HPV and you can confine cytology to women who are HPV positive".

Professor Jack Cuzick and Professor Kitchener, both agrees for the counseling of women tested HPV-positive, as this is sexually- transmitted virus that can be dormant for more than six months.
