Women treated for breast cancer were found to be experiencing low stamina and tiredness post-treatment. The researchers from Spain observed the problem by conducting a study on 59 breast cancer patients.
The researchers observed the participants for a year after their treatment was done. They analysed the patients for weariness, pain, less physical activities and anxiety. The researchers made a complete analysis of the mental and physical condition of the women.
As per the lead author of the study, Manuel Arroyo, "Cancer-related fatigue is the symptom that most limits quality of life and is most common in patients that survive cancerous processes”. Earlier, the researchers commenced studies on disproportionate bodily structure occurring from the treatment and the problem of self-confidence among women.
The issue picked up by the Spanish researchers is the first in its kind that emphasizes on the overall impact on the body and mind after the treatment of breast cancer on females. The researchers found from the study that the women not only suffered depression and weariness, but also experienced pain in neck and were incapable to use the arm for long time.
The researchers, therefore, appeal for conduction research on solving the problem of mental and physical discomforts experienced after recovering from the disease, as the discomforts could end up becoming life-long suffering.
