As per the media reports, a swathe of business units into one has been consolidated by Fonterra. Furthermore, Fonterra has rejigged its management as the dairy co- operative looks to cut costs and improve focus.
It was today revealed by Fonterra that consolidated business unit, which brings together all functions from the farm gate to global trade customers including milk supply and collection, shareholder relations, processing, supply chain and Government relations, would be called Fonterra Operations and Trade.
Gary Romano, formerly director of Fonterra's manufacturing and supply chain group will head the new unit. Here Mr. Romano's new title would be managing director of operations and trade.
Fonterra's managing director for global ingredients and foodservices would be Andrei Mikhalevsky and both Mikhalevsky and Romano would require reporting to Fonterra CEO Andrew Ferrier.
"The new structure meant a more intense focus on efficiency in Fonterra's core business, enabling it to better serve global customers and strengthen partnerships," said Ferrier.
