One More Case of West Nile Virus RegisteredIt has been reported that a 71-year-old has been hospitalized with symptoms of West Nile virus.

The man hails from New Castle County, and details about his medical condition has not been revealed by the Health Department. It has been reported that since September 13, there have been 202 cases of West Nile virus in New Zealand. The disease was found in 2004 when there were only four cases. But gradually, the incidents of the virus has increased manifold.

The virus not only affects human but horses are also at its mercy. It has been reported that the Sussex County horse which were suspected with virus are improving noticeably. The horse is said to be of 20-year-old. The vets have informed that if the horse fails to survive the virus then the brain of the horse will be tested. On general, horse owners have been urged to get their horses vaccinated so that the virus is prevented.

West Nile virus causes brain fever. It is usually spread from the bites of the mosquitoes which are found on West Nile River. It has been informed that these mosquitoes carry the virus in the glands were saliva is stored. The symptoms of the virus include laziness, difficulty in moving and fever.
