Apple is apparently leading the global tablet market, with the iPad accounting for almost three-quarters of the tablet sales in the UK alone.
According to data provider Kantar Worldpanel ComTec, as many as 3.6 million people in the UK now possess a tablet, and 73 per cent of them have an iPad.
The dominance of Apple in the field of tablet market will likely continue, as more than half of prospective tablet buyers saying that they would purchase Apple's iPad tablet over the next year.
However, the compiled data shows that more than a quarter of the prospective tablet owners are still in doubt about which brand to purchase.
Speaking on the topic, global consumer insight director of Kantar Worldpanel ComTec said, "Our data shows that 28 per cent of consumers that intend to purchase a tablet in the next year are still undecided about which brand to buy."
No rival tablet has so far been able to give a tough challenge to Apple's iPad. South Korean electronics giant Samsung's Galaxy Tab has emerged as the second most popular tablet in the UK, but currently it accounts for merely
5.9 per cent of the market.
