Updates to improve Facebook and Twitter connections

Facebook-TwitterIn its document sent to developers about some forthcoming updates on the popular social network, Facebook has reportedly mentioned that it is working on a feature which will help its members to channel their profile directly to a linked Twitter account.

The change will be a notable one, given the fact that Facebook members can currently connect to Twitter only through Facebook pages that are specifically meant for bands, businesses, and celebrities and other public personalities.

Facebook drew attention to the upcoming connection to Twitter while unveiling its ‘subscription’ system which functions in a manner that is striking similar to the working of the ‘follower’ feature on Twitter.

Facebook’s move to allow its members to connect directly to Twitter is widely being seen as the company’s response to changes that Twitter brought on earlier this month, making it easier for its account-holders to send tweets directly to a Facebook account --- a move which, in itself was an upshot of the success of the ‘Google +’ social network which has made it very easy to send updates to other places.

Though Facebook has refrained from giving a specific date for the release of the updates, other than saying that the linking with Twitter was coming "soon", there are speculations galore that the feature will be officially unveiled at Facebook's F8 developers conference that begins on Thursday, September 22.
