In a much warranted step, the Ministry of Health has ensured full commitment for addressing the percolating concern of oral dental care of aged people.
Even the noble thought was being welcomed by Age Concern National President Liz Baxendine, who is of the say that awareness regarding good oral health needs to be taken to another level.
It has been confirmed that a special research would be triggered targeting aged people over the age of 65 who are under the supervision of residential aged care facilities and even significant attention would be paid to all those who are being given care through home-based assistance.
It's has been known that having a good oral health indicates sound overall health and till the time, the required attention to oral dental care is not being given, nothing much could be done to improve the existing condition.
Being a supporter of oral dental care, Age Concern has called for significant improvement in the awareness level for elder section of the society.
"We also want more dentists to offer discounts to older people and for dentists to offer discounts on dental care to older people through the SuperGold card scheme", said Mrs. Baxendine.
