Mental Hospital of Auckland to Face Cuts in BeddingThe most controversial mental hospital of Auckland will soon be facing cuts in its bedding. It has been reported that in last couple of years the mental hospital's staff has been attacked a number of times by patients.

The decision of reducing the number of beds from the hospital has been made with the pursuit of ensuring safety of the staff. Moreover, it has come to light that its staff is pushed to work 17 hours at stretch which is again hazardous for their health.

In the coming weeks, about 58 beds from the hospital will be removed. Besides, more health workers will be recruited to reduce the work burden of the present staff. It has been revealed that the hospital is facing acute shortage of nurses. There is no doubt that the shortage is affecting the care needed by patients.

The health workers of mental hospital are always at stake as they face a number of challenges while handling patients. A patient undergoing treatment at hospital can attack the carers present near to him. Therefore, it is believed that security guards should also be recruited so that safety of the nurses at the mental hospital could be ensured.
