The soaring emergency cases coming to the Midwestern Regional Hospital and less than adequate staffing of the hospital has pushed the nurses to hold a 4-hour long agitation with the hope that Health Service Executive (HSE) will address to their woes.
To be a part of the protest, the members of Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) and SIPTU will take an off at 1: 00 p. m and will join back at 5:00 pm. During the protests, the members will be highlighting the sorry state of the medical staff.
Concerned over the health of the patients, the HSE has requested the agitators not to take the action. While answering the concern of the HSE the INMO has said that in the absence of the agitated nurses their qualified substitutes will be present to take care of the kids.
Jim McGrath, a member of SIPTU affirmed to the patients that even if the agitation takes place the emergency patients will be treated by professional and utmost care will be provided to them. For long, the medical staffs have been trying to grab the attention of HSE to the devastating conditions of the staff. But failure to it has led them to take the stern step.
