British specialist automotive group CPP Global Holdings will handle the development of a new version of the legendary Jensen Interceptor.
The all-new Jensen Interceptor will be manufactured at Jaguar's former Browns Lane site in Coventry. The decision to bring manufacturing back to Coventry will provide a much needed boost to the UK motor industry.
The new version of the Interceptor will be a 4-seater GT car with all-new aluminium chassis, a long bonnet and fastback rear.
Speaking about the new model, CPP Global Holdings' co-owner Brendan O'Toole said, "This work is at an advanced stage, and married to CPP's expert coach building, craftsmanship & engineering skills, the new Interceptor will be an exceptional example of British automotive excellence."
CPP has five manufacturing sites in Coventry, and owns the Bowler off-road vehicle firm. It is now pursuing discussions to acquire sports car firm Spyker.
New Jensen Interceptor will be showcased sometime in late 2012, with the first models hitting roads in 2014. Pricing details are yet to be announced.
