The Chief Executive Officer of Mater Women and Children's Hospital in Townsville, John Gilmour has notified a significant hike in the number of maternity unit bookings, for November. He further notified that usually, the unit acknowledges around 90 bookings every month and therefore, tagged November as exceptional with 120 applicants willing to deliver their child in the hospital.
Earlier on February 02, the disastrous huge cyclone has affected the regions of north Queensland to a greater extend. The unfortunate disaster had also casted significant impacts on the mental state of negatives and pushed them to experience trauma.
In addition, Mr. Gilmour had the emotional breakdown had played a role to create a feasible environment where people preferred to spend time with their respective partners and to make love. Consequently, even private obstetricians have reported increased maternity bookings.
Simultaneously, the hike has surprised Dr. Kurinji Kannan, a Townsville-based Obstetrician. "We do usually get a rush in September-October from babies received around Christmas time but it's unusual to get a spike in November", said Dr. Kannan.
Meanwhile, a Spokeswoman for the Cairns Base Hospital has revealed that the hospital has not acknowledged booking requests in bulk.
