The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) approved the reframed plan, prepared by the Airservices Australia, to increase the costs of air series. The proposal states small increase in the cost of the service instead of a huge one.
ACCC authorities revealed that Airservices was trying to recover excess of the amount spent amounting to $35 million for more than 5 years. ACCC Chairman Rod Sims, the Airservices has come up with a smaller price rise cap than that of presented earlier.
The proposal of increasing the cost of services is expected to be effective from October 1, 2011.
Airservices receive payment from various airline companies, for their arrival and departure from Australia. The organisation is the country's supplier of air traffic administration, aviation rescue and fire fighting service.
