The 2012 Infiniti M35h Hybrid has entered the new Guinness Book World Record for being the fastest full hybrid vehicle.
The all-new Infiniti M35h took off from a standing start and consumed merely13.9031 seconds to cover the quarter-mile. It should be noted here that it was an average time taken from all the runs performed by journalist Tim Pollard.
The 359bhp petrol/electric saloon harnessed the combination of electric motor torque plus the V6 power at high revs planned to get the vehicle pass the 100 miles per hour mark on every run.
Speaking on the accomplishment, Infiniti General Manager Bill Stephens said, "The Infiniti M35h proves that hybrids can be fast as well as economical. It’s an amazing accomplishment for Infiniti to have a vehicle with a Guinness World Record.”
The accomplishment put the new Infiniti M35h at par with the likes of 1982 Lamborghini Countach 1 when it comes to performance. In speed, it touched distance of some Aston Martins, Porsches and Ferraris. But unlike those cars, the Infiniti M35h is environmentally friendly car as it emits just 162g/km of CO2 and has a collective fuel economy of 40.4mpg.
The 2012 Infiniti M35h, which is available in 21 European markets, competes with the likes of Jaguar XF and BMW 5 Series.
