Marking its somewhat late foray into the tablet arena, Sony recently unveiled its Sony Tablet S; with the ‘S’ standing for “slate and single screen.”
The Tablet S is being touted as an all-rounder device which essentially draws its strengths from the diversity that Sony Electronics is associated with --- a fact that is evident from the horde of Sony cameras, consoles, televisions, e-readers, and Walkman tape recorders!
Equipped with a 9.4-inch display and a dual-core processor, the S weighs 1lb 5oz (598g); and is available in two WiFi-only models of 16 GB and 32 GB, priced respectively at $499 and $599.
According to Sony, one of the most compelling features of the S is its wedge-shaped design which will facilitate the users when they type on with the tablet laid flat. The design and the typing ease ensure that the weight of the tablet is closer to the user’s palm; thereby lending it a lighter feel and making it fairly easy to carry.
In addition, the tablet also enhances the comfort factor for the users when they read an e-book or watch a video.
The alluring design and easy grip of the S, along with a multitude of attractive features, like a high-resolution screen; a huge number of Sony services; a notably better Android interface, make the tablet a very attractive device --- all the more so as it boasts a high standard of features, thanks to its borrowed technology from other Sony products!
