Elderly Women Being Deprived Of Breast Cancer Treatment

Breast-Cancer-TreatmentBreast cancer is one of those diseases which have been impacting the lives of many women all over the world. Recently, a group of researchers found that women above the age of 65 are at higher risk of succumbing to death as the treatment for breast cancer is not being provided to them.

The findings will be presented at European Multidisciplinary Cancer Congress. The findings of the researchers clearly highlights that women are being biased on the basis of their age while getting treatment for breast cancer.

Considering the number of women that are being refused chemotherapy, it has been decided to launch pilot schemes which elderly women will be able to avail. Moreover changes will be made in the Equality Act so that every patient irrespective of her age could get the treatment.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that soon an application will hit the world’s store which will help women in diagnosing breast cancer. It is expected that the application will be out in October to mark the Breast Cancer month. The application will run on the smartphones which will help women in self-testing their breast for breast cancer.
