Doctor Sacked For Poor Performance at Work

Doctor-Poor-PerformanceDr. Emmanuel Gbadebo Alabi, 49, was found incompetent in performing minor duties involved while practicing the profession.

Dr. Alabi a resident of Cork had persuaded and completed his MBBS, from Belarus in 1994. Dr. Alabi commenced his internship as a junior-doctor in the obstetrics and gynecology departments. In the year 2004, he qualified the test of Professional Linguistic Assessment Board (PLAB), which was required to pursue his profession in the UK.

In the year 2010, Dr. Alabi was appointed as a junior doctor at the Our Lady's of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda. After the commencement of the office, the doctors under whom Dr. Alabi worked noticed that he was incapable of performing the general responsibilities like jotting down the medical case of the patient and making the minor recommendations.

The doctor didn’t even know how to wash the surgery equipment before using it and hardly washed his hands. As a result the hospital authorities found him unfit to be allowed to practice at the hospital. Also, the Irish Medical Council was examining the two cases filed against Dr. Alabi for his incompetency to perform the tasks involved in his profession.

Despite the provision of sufficient guidance and supervision, Dr. Alabi was incapable to improve his performance while practicing the profession.
