A Study on Factors Influencing Children’s Attitude Towards Life

AttitudeA study commenced on the viewpoint of the 120 children aged 9, in Ireland representing the thought of the children falling in this age group.

Researchers found that while some children participants held positive approach towards life, some were really disturbed and incapable to adjust with dietary habits and healthiness.

Minister for Children Frances Fitzgerald launched the study called Growing Up in Ireland- the National Longitudinal Study of Children. Maximum numbers of children were contended with their living standard, with scoring on an average of 10. More than 50% of the participant rated their contentment with their lifestyle at 9 on 10. These children considered friendship as a very important factor associated to their lives.

On been asked about the various factors that gave way to harassment, the children revealed that mostly children were mocked for their weight, size, looks, and background. Out of the 120 children, 75% of them lived with 2 parents, and 33 % lived with their mothers. Only 19 children were found to be distressed because they were victims of parental separation.

The researchers found a few number of children were comfortable with their non-resident fathers, but some really felt stressed. Many were upset with the busy professional life of their parents, which influenced their attitude towards life.
