New Zealand has the maximum number of teenage pregnancy cases, which reveals the fact that teens at an early age were indulging in sexual activities.
This also shows the need to educate students about various ways of having safe sex, if the commencement of the activity cannot be tackled. The pregnancy rates among the teens in New Zealand were double the number in countries like Australia and Canada. New Zealand was 4 times ahead of Denmark, Japan, Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland in teenage pregnancy rate.
A recent survey by Auckland University called the National Secondary School Youth Health Survey, observed 10,000 pupils and found that 16% - 25% of them involved in sexual activities. Whereas the pupils aged 11, a third was not involved in such activities, while in the senior secondary students over 50% were not involved in sexual activities.
The survey itself is a source of encouragement for various organisations to support the example of the ones who were not involved in the sexual activities. These students can set an example for the other teenagers, to abstain from sex.
Also, the information provided by Family Planning Association and Rainbow Youth that using condom while having sex can protect from all sorts of disease motivate students to indulge in the activity at an early age.
